I enjoyed both titles in the series, as well as the novella, Fallen Ranger, featuring the same characters. Very original stories and well written.

Patterson's gunfighting Texas Ranger treads the line between right and wrong in his life. When his ex-wife is murdered, he must fight to stay on the right side of that line. Uses fairly standard tropes of a murder mystery with high levels…

I have read James Patterson books and enjoyed them but this one left me shaking my head. He writes like an emotional teenage girl in this book. I have no problem with men and tears but this book read like a dear diary entry.

When Texas Ranger, Rory Yate's ex wife is murdered, he is considered a suspect. But when another woman that he cared about is murdered, he does everything he can to find the murderer. This is another very good book by James Patterson.

I really don't care for books where the lead character is an idiot - over and over again. And of those that I have seen doing that, this is by far the worst example. Oh, and the solution to the mystery is beyond absurd. Don't waste one…

Although I don't consider myself a big reader of westerns, I did find that I liked the Walt Longmire series and jumped to this story about Texas Ranger Rory Yates. He gets in trouble, like Walt Longmire, but works hard to solve tough…

Loved it! With so many books available to read, it's been a while since I've read one by James Patterson, so I was looking forward to reading this one. I love his writing style and the story was unique. I did not know who the killer was…

Just did not like this book at all.

This novel seems like one that's been put together from several different authors who would know much more about Texas Rangers. Patterson's collaborations with different co-authors definitely weakens his writing. If you are interested in…

I agree with USAF1969. The book is ok and holds the reader's interest, but the main character is neither likeable nor admirable to this reader. Texas Rangers are among the elite of law enforcement officers. Skilled, determined, and…

An action-packed, fast-paced thriller that features a new character named Rory Yate's. He's a Texas Ranger with flaws who ultimately wants to do the right thing.

THE RANGER by James Patterson & Andrew Bourelle has an interesting story line with lots of twists and turns. My first guess as to who the killer was came about 1/2 way through and turned out to be correct, but because of the way the story…

Interesting new character to add to the Patterson list. I am sure that we will be seeing more of Rory as time goes by. Fast read (as are most of the Patterson books) but filled with lots of action, murder and mayhem.
