I'm someone who has never, ever understood Robin Williams' wide-spread comic appeal. And, after viewing "Bicentennial Man" - I understand that apparent comic charm of his even less.

IMO - This $100 million SyFy movie (from 1999) was absolutely awful. And, the most awful part of all about it was Robin Williams playing the title character.

Why-oh-why, do so many people view Williams as being an incomparably funny funnyman? 'Cause he's unbelievably dreadful from my perspective.

I sat through this 130-minute dud with a completely straight face. Not once did I ever laugh, chuckle, or even let out a snicker. All this film did for me was to make me swear to myself that (from now on) I will avoid viewing any movie that stars the likes of Robin Williams.

I love this movie so much. Based on Isaac Asimov story.

I watched this movie when it was released in 1997. At that time, I wasn't very interested in this movie.
Now... 20+ years later, I decided to watch this movie again. Robin Williams is a very good actor and plays his character extremely well. I am glad that I gave this movie a second watch.
In my opinion, this movie shows an emotional abundance that humans should truly endeavor.

Lots of stuff played for laughs, so the pathos of the original story is lost.
