I really enjoyed the reversed selection where bachelors came in to win Eadlyn's heart. Eadyln has very strong walls up and does not want to let the boys in and take away her independence however, upon fear of losing her twin brother Ahren to his loyal lover Camille, she starts to loosen up a tiny bit. We are left with a massive bombshell at the end of this novel where everything changes... for worse or better? We don't know.

The Heir is a great book, and gives you some answers after what happens in the third book. This book, Is about America, and Maxon’s daughter Eadlyn. The book is through her point of view. While in previous books America wanted to dissolve the castes, it has actually happened in this book. Sadly, it doesn’t end up how everyone wants. While all of this is going on, Eadlyn is having 35 boys compete for her heart. She doesn’t even know if she can truly love someone yet. She isn’t the best on camera, and is definitely not adored by the people. The book ends on a huge cliffhanger, when someone very important life's is at stake. It is at this moment Eadlyn makes a huge decision.

I absolutely loved the storyline! I wasn't a big fan of the protagonist in the beginning, however, she was kind of stubborn like America and she seemed really spoiled. The boys however were all soooo charming and adorable, and the ending of the book was so suprising and completely unexpected!

The Heir is the fourth book in the Selection series. Years after Prince Maxon chose his wife, it is now time for their daughter Eadlyn to take her role in choosing the next prince of Illea. Except there is one problem. Eadlyn isn’t ready to fall in love yet. In
this comical yet captivating book, we finally get to see the Selection through the eyes of the princess, and how it is just as stressful for her as much as it is for the contestants. Although her temper got out of had sometimes, her stubbornness really showed
people who was boss. Out of 5 stars, I would give this book 4.5 stars. Kylie, grade 9, of the Yorba Linda Teen Book Bloggers

The Heir is the fourth installment in the Selection series. It tells the story of Eadlyn, America’s daughter, who is now in her own selection, only this time, the roles are reversed--the princess is having to choose from 35 boys. Eadlyn is shown to be unpopular among the people of her country. She also differs from her father in that she is extremely indifferent about the idea of finding love through a selection. This book just seems like a lazy effort to counter the stereotyped “girl chases guy” process and to develop the “independent female” character. The plot is not captivating at all, and the cheesiness present in the previous books persists. My recommendation would be to stop reading after the third book of the series (The One). Unlikable main character, lukewarm romance, no awesome political butt-kicking.

This was a pretty good book. Although, I found some parts to lack the plot twists in the first three books. The ending seemed rushed, but I enjoyed the parts when Eadlyn slowly has more understanding of her parents selection.

Addictive with a fantastic protagonist and an absolutely gorgeous cover.

These 2 books on Eadlyn was good in that you get to see a glimpse of the parents, whom we miss from the 1st 3 books. The ending here felt rushed and the government change seems a bit silly, but was a satisfying end nonetheless.

this book was really great! but I was disappointed because I wanted to see more of America. Also this book was really cool because you could kind of see how Maxon felt during the selection for him. I also thought that it was really cool that the author made Marlee's son a big part of the story. I thought that Aspen was not going to be in this book, I though that maybe he and Lucy went to go live somewhere else. I really hope that their is going to be another book!

"He pulled back again, looking into my eyes, and there was something different. Was he feeling that funny warmth creep into his arms and chest and head, too? 'Thank you,' I murmured. 'Any time. I mean'-- he shook his head, laughing at himself--'you know what I mean.' 'Goodnight, Kile.' 'Goodnight, Eadlyn." He gave me a quick kiss on the cheek before heading toward the stairs that led back to his temporary quaters. I watched him go and told myself that the only reason I was smiling like that was because of the cameras were hidden somewhere, not because of anything Kile woodwork had done."

I kept thinking that I couldn't live my life for other people, that love was nothing but chains. And maybe it was, but so help me, I needed these chains ... These things didn't make me weaker; they held my soul to the earth. I wasn't going to run from them anymore. page 341

I remembered the feeling of my first date with Hale, how I felt when I was sure he'd peeled everything back and seen the real me. This time, I felt like I was on the other side of that, looking past duty and worry and rank, seeing the true heart of a person.
And his was so beautiful.

Princess Eadlyn has grown up hearing endless stories about how her mother and father met. Twenty years ago, America Singer entered the Selection and won the heart of Prince Maxon—and they lived happily ever after. Eadlyn has always found their fairy-tale story romantic, but she has no interest in trying to repeat it. If it were up to her, she'd put off marriage for as long as possible.

But a princess's life is never entirely her own, and Eadlyn can't escape her very own Selection—no matter how fervently she protests.

Eadlyn doesn't expect her story to end in romance. But as the competition begins, one entry may just capture Eadlyn's heart, showing her all the possibilities that lie in front of her . . . and proving that finding her own happily ever after isn't as impossible as she's always thought.
