Finally, an author who understands the process of successful potty training inside and out. In chapter one we learn that Dr. Brazelton, the main advocate of the "wait til they're ready" approach still pushed by the AAP was a paid spokesman for Pampers, which came out with the first disposable diapers right when doctors started dissuading parents from potty training at the traditional age of 18-24 months. This book helps you assess when your child is CAPABLE of learning and then breaks down the stages of understanding a child needs to pass through to go from clueless to knowing when they are going, and finally knowing when they need to go. It also gets the parent ready, which is what really holds back potty training most of the time.

I used the method and advice in this book to potty train my strong-willed/spirited son at 25 months old. It was a fun bonding experience for all of us, and I'm so glad that as a result, the natural power struggles we had at age 3 did not involve diapers or poop!

Reading this book well before I started was awesome, because it helped me prepare for all setbacks (limit-testing behavior) and challenges (like outings in the car). I marked out the week on the calendar in advance, got all my ducks in a row, got daycare on board, and it went great. I can't recommend this book highly enough.

This book is awesome. We are in Blocks 2 and 3 right now and this book has been a lifesaver. The author describes the process and pitfalls you may run into (which are spot on!) but leaves plenty of room for tweaking on a per child basis. Don't hesitate... check it out! We will be buying a copy for ourselves!

This book is incredible! My 24 month old son potty trained, including nap and bedtime, in 4 days. He hasn't had an accident since day 2! It's amazing, all about confidence and persistence. Ignore the haters who say boys potty train late and that you can't potty train "so early". Your child can do this!

I loved this book and ended up buying it during my kid's potty training experience. It's a must have resource for every parent. I ended up having to majorly tweak the crap lady's method in the end but this book covered it all and I felt very prepared starting PTing with this book by my side.

If you don't want to end up with potty brain trying to navigate toilet training your tot, then read Oh Crap! Potty training. I committed and followed 98% what the author suggested (stick to it as much as you can) other than, 1 I didn't fill up my toddler with juice to bring on wee, water was fine and 2 my toddler was 32 months, which is just older than the book suggests when they should be trained. My toddler was day and night trained at once and moved through the blocks in reasonable time. My toddler responded well to the approach with little behaviour problems other than a bit of BPP (read book to find out what this means!) The book helps you navigate common behavioural issues too. Insist on support from those around you, be confident, stick with it as it can be tough at times but when they 'get' weeing and pooing in the potty, it is so worth the effort. Good luck you can do it.

After struggling for months to potty train my son I found this book and that was it. Can't say enough how helpful this book was to me.

This book is awesome. It helped me potty train my son in 3 days. It has sections for everything that could go wrong and for working parents too. Who knew it didn't have to be so long and drawn out?

I read this book and followed Jamie's instructions - amazing! My daughter potty trained in a couple days with only a couple accidents. She was 27 months. She was dry at night about 4 days after I started potty training. It works!

Ok, we're still a bit early for potty training, so I can't attest yet to whether or not her method works, but this was an EXCELLENT read. Her method seems very down-to-earth and intuitive, and she has a great sense of humor (you could probably already tell that from the title). It was also a very quick read, which as the mom of a 10 month old I appreciated. I'll have to put this back on my list to re-read when we're ready to start :)
