The BFG
DVD - 2016
It tells the imaginative story of a young girl and the Giant who introduces her to the wonders and perils of Giant Country. The BFG, while a giant himself, is a Big Friendly Giant and nothing like the other inhabitants of Giant Country. Standing 24-feet tall with enormous ears and a keen sense of smell, he is endearingly dim-witted and keeps to himself for the most part.

Add a CommentWe watched BFG on t.v on last week on friday june 12 2020 and we had the dvd with us not my really favorie movie to watch but my brother really wanted me to watch it it doesn't seem to me like a disney movie but it is but at least i have more time to watch movies over quarantine
The movie has a very nice cinematography, but the storyline is quite dragging. The movie is not able to capture the soul of the story in the book.
Wonderfull whimsy! Great mix of live action and CGI. Can't lose with an imaginative book from Ronald Dahl. Acting was great, and they would not be able to find a kinder face for the BFG than Mark Rylance. I give this film a 7 (delightful) out of 10. [Fantastic Adventure]
This was a great movie. No, it was not as fast paced as other juvenile films out there but it was still quite enjoyable.
I fell a sleep twice on this movie . I guest I will try it again. hope I will make this time.
Fantastic movie. A BFG is a grandpa every kid wishes to have.
I enjoyed watching The BFG. I thought that the storyline was unique, and very creative. The characters were all likeable, and I think that there are a lot of messages to be found within the story. Disney did a great adaptation of the book, of the same title, which I always appreciate. I thought that all of the characters were effectively brought to life on screen, and the story line was well developed. I would definitely recommend this movie to other viewers. It is full of quirks, fun, and adventure, and would make a great movie for the entire family! 3.5/5

I read the Roald Dahl book of the BFG when I was in Grade 2, and I still love reading it to this day. That’s seven years of reading about the giants, the BFG and all the characters in the story. I think that this was a good adaption of the book, however I think that the casting for the young girl could have been better; she was very unlike the girl I had in mind. But overall some parts were slower and it’s not the type of film that will make a big mark on me. Needless to say I recommend the book for sure and the BFG is my spirit animal!

It didn't really seem that great to me. It was interesting but I just really didn't enjoy it as much.
Wonderful family movie for young and old!
I wanted this adaptation of Roald Dahl's The BFG to be amazing, but it was just ok.
