A pitch-perfect look at the affection - and the acrimony - that binds sisters together. Ainsley O'Leary is so ready to get married - she's even found the engagement ring her boyfriend has stashed away. What she doesn't anticipate is for Eric to blindside her with a tactless breakup he chronicles in a blog. . . which (of course) goes viral. Devastated and humiliated, Ainsley turns to her half sister, Kate, who's already struggling after the sudden loss of her new husband. Despite the lifetime of history between them, the sisters must learn to put their differences aside and open their hearts to the inevitable imperfection of family - and the possibility of one day finding love again.

Love this author. I've read most of her books. Good story line, kept me reading. Although I enjoyed it, I have to agree with previous comment about the switching back and forth between the sisters stories.
As always, humor, a dog, mixed with lots of emotion.

A friend who hosts the World's Best Book Club (it really is ~ check it out on Facebook) in New Zealand recommended Kristan Higgins. On Second Thought was first on my list.

Fabulous story about love and loss. Great characters. I laughed out loud several times and cried a bit too. Gram-Gram is a hoot.

The author's penchant for switching between Katie and Ainsley's stories with each chapter was annoying for me.

Loved! this book! Couldn't put it down - but didn't want it to end. Such a good good book.

I loved this one! I couldn't stop reading and was very sorry to finish the book. I know I will re-read it.

One of the best books I ever read - in fact I re-read just two weeks later because I loved it so much. There are poignant and sad moments interspersed with a dry witty humor that has you laughing out loud.

Nearly perfect novel! Well-balanced and well-written. A good story with easy-to-root-for characters.

Funny, charming, and a tear-jerker, all rolled up into one. Fans of early Jennifer Weiner will love.
