An absolutely thrilling conclusion to the Lockwood and Co. Series. I couldn't put this book down! Although I was mystified about the ending (??????) I loved this book. My favorite scene was the battle vs. Julius Winkman and "Sir" Rupert Grant. Oh, how I hate those two. But I found myself liking Kipps and Flo. There were a lot of surprises that I wasn't prepared for, but I don't want to be a spoiler. All in all, a great read.

The series finale for Lockwood & Co., The Empty Grave does not disappoint. Most of us have read a series where the last book left us thinking, "what? That's it? I think we need a do-over." BUT NOT THIS ONE.

Stroud gives us everything we've been waiting for: a breakneck-paced plot, jumps and scares, resolutions, friendships, Skull quips galore. No, you may not read this one without reading the others. Yes, you may want a box of tissues close. No, I won't read your fanfic when you refuse to accept the series is over.

I'm so, so sad this series is over.😥 But I'm happy to say that I loved how everything wrapped up in the end. I even found myself liking Kipps. Go figure! And Flo. (I liked learning a bit about her backstory.) I've enjoyed watching how all of the characters have grown and truly come to care about each other.

The Empty Grave was packed with action, lightning-paced, filled with drama ... and I wouldn't have had this series end any other way!

Stroud is definitely one of my favorite authors. While I still think that the Bartimaeus trilogy is his best work, this entire series was absolutely fantastic in terms of character and plot development. All of the characters seem interesting, unique, and, most importantly, realistic. There are no idealistically perfect characters in Stroud's books, which is hard to find nowadays.

This book, was sure something. Definitely six out of five. It is an absolute thrilling read and nearly perfectly ties up the Lockwood and Co. series. The characters were spot on, and Lucy is just fabulous. I loved all the hauntings, and the final battle was truly spectacular. I for one, never saw the Flaming Spirit coming. This book kinda kept me up at night. Ohh and the ending. Mr. Stroud that ending. (My fangirl senses are tingling. Do I smell Lockyle?). Overall, I would like to thank Mr. Stroud for my favorite series. So long!

Such a great series. I think this book ended up being my favorite out of all of them. I could not put it down.

The book was good, but I felt that it was a little drawn out. The reader is just waiting for the final battle to happen to see how the series ends.

Something flashed past me like a vengeful chicken

Few non-spectral situations are as fearsome as being cornered by a deranged senior on stilts, with his ten steak-knife fingers clawing in your direction.

“She may look good to you, but whatever she’s been doing to look so young, it isn’t yoga, I can tell you that.”

I opened the fridge to get some milk. As I closed the door, the face in the jar gave a sudden theatrical start that almost made me drop the bottle. The rubbery eyes looked wildly in all directions; the nostrils flared, the mouth contorted in alarm. “Ooh, I smell something burning….Wait, wait, it’s your pants! Your pants are on fire, you massive liar!"
