We like Hercule so enjoyed this one that we'd not seen before.

The pathos at the end is heavy weight. No one ever seems to be able to enjoy themselves at the solving of the mystery of who killed who and why did they kill them. The British wealthy are an entitled group that is fatally flawed through a disconnect between their wealth and their responsibility to live a good, clean, moral life, not looking down up others less fortunate than themselves. It is easier to pass through the eye of the camel than for a rich man to enter the gates of Heaven. Poirot was much more enjoyable when he came with Hastings, Miss Lemon, and Inspector Japp. But those wonderful three are gone and the Poirot we now see is bowed in his back, flat in his personality, and probably never really enjoying "just one more murder to solve before I die".
