Opinion
From Library Staff
Short punchy chapters that really pull you through the story. I found there was a bit of a slump in the middle, but the ending made it worth it!
"That rarest of beasts: the perfect thriller. This extraordinary novel set my blood fizzing—I quite literally couldn’t put it down. I told myself I'd just dip in; eleven hours later—it's now 5:47 a.m.—I've finished it, absolutely dazzled."

Add a CommentI loved the pace of this novel and found it hard to put down! I read it in one day and really thoroughly enjoyed it. Best thriller I've read for a long time! Highly recommended.
Boring start, once 100 pages in significantly better! Woah to the ending
I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I thought it was an excellent debut novel.
Really enjoyed this book - I loved it when the realisation of who the stalker was, becomes apparent! Freaky!
A little difficulty getting into this but turned into a very good thriller.
Great read, has three-dimensional characters that the reader is trying to figure out throughout the book. Had me turning pages faster and faster until the very end. Loved the surprise twist!
Really good, and fast-paced. The twist at the end was unexpected. I highly recommend
I could not get into this, in part because of the psychotherapist's continued and unironic use of the word "mad" as in "crazy". I know it's fiction, but as a mental health practitioner myself, it felt so overdramatic and not true to life. I ended up being unable to finish the book, but looked up the rest of the plot out of curiosity. I'm glad I didn't finish it.
An outstanding read. The characters are well developed over the entire span of the book. The twists and turns are unexpected. The ending is totally unexpected. For thriller readers, The Silent Patient is a must read.
A most interesting book! The author is able to grab one and immerse them into the book quickly. Couldn't put it down and the ending totally surprised me. Very good book!
