Seen from a child's wishful, unrealistic perspective.
A heavy sackful of poetic license as to how animals behave. Upon watching this film, a viewer might be tempted to cuddle up to a friendly wild predator.

Thrilling coming of age story with the added element of a white lion! Most amazing is that to gain trust between lead actress, de Villieres and lion(Thor), this movie was filmed over a period of 3 years with normal growth and physical changes of both stars-- naturally no subs for the young girl and feline. Cinematography is stunning but "love" relationship between human and beast is the real star here. Message is also clear: we can't live in a world without wild animals!
