Add a CommentWay, way too much set-up. Ellie's family financial details are not necessary.
What starts out as an entertaining love story between the narrator and the love of his life ends off with a devastating murder and shocking reveal. Endless Night entertains straight from the start, though the murder takes place late in the story. However, the story is kind of lessened due to the fact that it recycles plot elements and twists from my two favourite Agathe Christie books: "The Murder Of Roger Ackroyd" and "Death On The Nile". Still, it's pretty good.
my mum liked Christie, I read only the major mystery stuff like poirot back then, and I picked this up from nostalgia. it is excellent! strong characters and imagery
Slow to get in to, but worth the wait.
Agatha Christie is one of my favorite authors, but this is the only book she wrote so far I could not finish! The main character endlessly subjects us with his inner thoughts. His most constant yearning is to find a girl and build himself a special house in which they are to live. Doesn't seem so silly, does it? Well, after the tenth time you read it you will feel like throwing the book at the wall. He constantly revolves on this single subject, going on and on, a spiral of irritating, repetitive sameness. The reader is subjected to excruciatingly long passages of soliloquy, that lead nowhere. I don't read Christie's books for her deep analysis of characters, so I gave up after twenty pages.
really enjoyed this book
Awesome story. But all Christie novels are awesome.
This book isn't what springs to mind when you think 'Agatha Christie', but that doesn't mean it's not fantastic. A tense, and (near the end) frightening, story.
No Poirot. No Miss Marple, A very slick psychological thriller that leaves you guessing "Who Killed Ellie" right up to the end.
