I am not sure how "ready2read"can say this is not a mystery, because the "whodonnit was obvious." Even if that were true, figuring out "whodonnit" does no a bad mystery make. I am 2/3rds though the book and I can think of at least 5 possible suspects, and I don't want to put the book down until I know if my top choice is correct. I hate mysteries where some obscure character, with a convoluted story in the last chapter, turns out to be the killer.

I have read a number of books by Carolyn Hart. Letter from Home differs from the other cozy mysteries. I like the story and the way it moves from the past to the present. A good read!

I am not sure what to say about this novel--I did enjoy reading it, but there is no mystery here. It gave me insight into what it must have been like in small-town America during WWll . Childhood friends and schoolmates came home damaged or not at all. But I felt the "whodunnit was obvious.
