In the tradition of Amanda Cross, this evocatively written mystery by a Vancouver resident probes a murder, the landscape and the passing of time. The many turns and twists of the narrative mirror the backroads of New York State where the action takes place. A tender, subtly delineated side plot is the relationship between an againg mother and her daughter.

A big fault : the book has too many character to keep track of. You keep asking yourself who is this character and where does he-she fit in. I had to push myself to finish the book.
