An interesting account of the L&C expedition told in the view of Sacajawea (Janey). It's really sad because she has a terrible husband and she is so in love with Captain Clark. The ending was quite sad too. Another book sorta like this is Sacagawea, by Joseph Bruchac.

Sacajawea's prayer to the Great Spirit
"Please, ruler of the sun, moon, and the stars, of all the winds and the four directions, please grant my wish. I have more wishes, but this is the only one I truly wish. Turn his thoughts upon me his smile and his love, and keep him safe on the long journey that lies before us."
By he, she means Captain Clark.
