Better than season 6, but it's a good time to wrap it up since the series is repeating itself. Season 7 has another murder buddy/serial killer friend, and there's another person in the police department getting close to Dexter. I'm expecting a strong finish since there are some new wrinkles in Dexter's "code" that force him to quit being such a moral lightweight. On the surface this show looks like something shocking and new, (a serial killer we root for"), but underneath it all Dexter is a traditional good guy - he's a great father, kind, considerate, good friend, and he only kills the worst of the worst in bad guys. It's a souped up police procedural with an interesting case at the center and a bunch of characters with personal lives that you can care about or not. At this point I find myself fast forwarding most of the scenes when they're talking about anything but the police work.
