Patricia Cornwell sparked my interest in serial crime/forensic science drama, so I have a soft spot for her. However, I spend most of this book feeling like I was missing something. It wasn't up to par with her previous adventures with Scarpetta. I found myself struggling to finish the book. The story seemed to jump around from character to character and never really settled in one spot. There were too many characters with big stories that weren't given any real depth or focus. This wasn't Cornwell's best.
