I watched this film mainly because of the comedic timing and appeal of Dwayne Johnson, and even thought the trailers made Kevin Hart (Grudge Match: 2013; Ride Along: 2014) look ok, however it was not very funny nor well written by part screen writer credits by Ike Barinholtz, (Neighbors: 2014; Suicide Squad: 2016; The Mindy Project-tv).
Although it did have a few mildly funny parts, it was largely humourless, and found Kevin Hart to be ever so annoying as before. Dwayne Johnson (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle:2017; Rampage: 2018) was as good as usual, and mildly interested with some of the other bit players, such a Danielle Nicolete (The Flash: tv), Jason Bateman (Arrested Developement: tv), Melissa McCarthy (Spy: 2015; The Boss: 2016), and Kumail Nanjiani (The Big Sick: 2017).
The fight scenes are an example of the typical multi-edited segments put together, rather than the long shots used more effectively in a recent film such as Platinum Blonde.
Although my partner and I did stick it out, we found that this was not really worthwhile.
This Blue-ray disc provided a theatrical version and an unrated version, we chose to watch the theatrical version.
