Personally, my favourite out of the whole series. I was just fascinated by Maven's character; he is very well written. I can still not get a straight opinion on him because he's so complicated, and you find yourself continually questioning yourself on whether the boy he could've become is still there hiding behind his shattered mind. At the beginning of the book, we get to see a lot of Maven and Mare, and you can see the internal struggles Maven faced. He's definitely one of my favourite characters, and that book just heightened my love for him. The text is full of epic fight sequences—the whole book, you just find that no single character is only good or evil. 5/5 @bookwzxrm of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board This third installment to the “Red Queen” series is probably my favourite so far. Filled with love, action, and heartbreak, it truly is a complete story. This book made me want to scream, cry, and laugh all at once. The ending, like the previous novels, was a cliffhanger that made me want to explode and read the next book ASAP. I cannot wait until the final book in this series is released. Victoria Aveyard, the author, really knows how to captivate the readers with her writing and I think that is why her stories are so good. I would rate this book 5/5 and would highly recommend this book series to anyone. - @potterhead of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library
