Winona, Aurora and Vivi Ann are the Grey sisters, left largely to raise each other after the premature death of their mother in their teen years. Their father is a tough rancher, no emotion in sight, and the girls, especially Winona, long to please him. But Winona’s long time crush, Luke, comes back to town only to fall for Vivi Ann, who is falling for the Indian (Native) ranch hand, Dallas Raintree. Winona keeps her feelings to herself and the rift that grows between her and her youngest sisters takes decades to bridge. When Vivi Ann breaks Luke’s heart, Winona is also cast aside and the temporary happiness between Vivi Ann and Dallas is shattered when he is accused of a serious crime. This novel was the perfect feminine escape; love men, but stay true to your sisters. 3 starts (out of 5)
