I had heard around about this movie and I was looking for an opportunity to watch it, and I’m glad I did, it’s unique cast and characters and plot line make for a really fun movie experience. Steve Carrel’s character is unexpected and fun, and the family dynamic that feels like it should be dysfunctional but isn’t creates an interesting atmosphere for the characters. The movie has personable moments that hit a lot of different emotions and let the cast stretch a bit with their range. For a road trip movie, it ties all its plot lines together and finishes with a nice little bow, overall I give it a 4/5 - @Rook of the Hamilton Public Library's Teen Review Board The Hoover Family is largely dysfunctional and should not be spending so much time together, however, the youngest girl is participating in the Little Miss Sunshine contest in California and needs the support of her family. This movie is a classic in showing the ups and downs of family life, and the realities that people face when they have clashing personalities. Nonetheless, little Olive Hoover will make you smile and rethink the things that make you upset. The movie is hilarious, heartwarming, and so much more. Although overwhelming at times, I would rate it 3.5/5 stars and recommend it to those with a dysfunctional family of their own. @The_Reviewer of the Hamilton Public Library's Teen Review Board
